Aaron Rodgers appears to be enjoying the off-season and his attempts to reconcile with ex-fiancee Shailene Woodley by whisking her away to some cool vacation spots — just like he did in the spring of 2021 when they celebrated their newly announced engagement with trips to Mexico, Disney World, the Kentucky Derby and Maui.
In the past two weeks, the Green Bay Packers quarterback, 38, and the Hollywood star, 30, were photographed attending Rodgers’ teammate’s wedding in Montecito and arriving by private plane in Palm Beach, Florida, for what was reported to be a brief, five-hour stay.
This week, the Instagram gossip account Deux Moi shared reader-submitted photos of Rodgers and Woodley enjoying breakfast in Santa Barbara and then spending some time in Nashville. According to the reader, Rodgers and Woodley were sitting at a table in the upscale Nashville boutique hotel Urban Cowboy, which has a popular “no-reservations” bar and restaurant.

The hotel also seems to be getaway spot for celebrities, having previously posted Instagram photos of guests Jason Momoa and Ireland Baldwin, Alec Baldwin’s daughter, whom Urban Cowboy called “a repeat offender.”
As Rodgers and Woodley are reportedly trying “to figure things out” with their on-off relationship, they have apparently returned to an activity that brought them happiness when they were newly engaged in 2021: Hopping on private planes to travel to cool vacation spots in North America.

In the late winter and spring of 2021, the four-time NFL Most Valuable Player and the “Big Little Lies” star became known for their private-jet-set-life. From March through May 2021, they were photographed or reported as flying in or out of various locations: Costa Careyes, an exclusive resort town on Mexico’s Pacific coast; Orlando, Florida, where they visited Disney World; and Oahu, where they met up with friends Miles Teller and Keleigh Sperry for a luxury Hawaiian vacation.
Speaking of Teller and Sperry, Woodley’s “Divergent Series” co-star and his model wife have been enjoying another tropical getaway — without Rodgers and Woodley — in the spectacular French Polynesian island of Bora Bora. Last year, Sperry shared multiple photos and videos of her and Teller vacationing with Rodgers and Woodley at the Kentucky Derby and on the Hawaiian island of Maui. Sperry’s images from Maui showed the foursome hiking to a waterfall and dancing and singing at a local restaurant.
Early last month, multiple reports said that Rodgers and Woodley had called off their engagement, after they were said to have begun dating during pandemic lockdown in 2020.
In November 2021, Rodgers and Woodley — by association — became mired in controversy after he ranted on “The Pat McAfee Show” about his opposition to COVID-19 vaccines and after it was learned that he had lied about being vaccinated and that he had violated NFL safety protocols. Rodgers subsequently failed to mention Woodley in his speech last month when he won his second straight MVP award, but a couple weeks later, Rodgers suggested they were back together when he returned to Pat McAfee’s show and said that she was “the incredible, talented, smart, kind” woman who had transformed his life.
Following Rodgers’ McAfee interview, Us Weekly quoted a source close to the couple who said that Rodgers and Woodley had indeed broken up, but the source also explained that they had reconsidered their split and were “talking things through.”
The source told Us Weekly that since Rodgers was in the off season, “he has more downtime and can focus more on a relationship.” His future in football also appears to settled with Rodgers signing a contract extension worth a reported $150 million that will keep him with the Packers for at least three years. With that behind him, he and Woodley were spotted getting affectionate together in Montecito at the March 5 wedding of Rodgers’ teammate David Bakhtiari. Two days later, they flew to Florida.

With off season, there could be more trips. Maybe Rodgers would fly with her to Italy when she begins work on “Ferrari,” the new big-budget biopic about racing mogul Enzo Ferrari, directed by Michael Mann.
If there are more getaways in their future, it would be questionable for Woodley to be OK with private plane travel. It might be typical for an NFL star like Rodgers to prefer the luxury and convenience of a private plane, but the diesel-burning travel choice comes off as a incongruous for environmentalist Woodley.
As one of Hollywood’s best known activists, Woodley has often spoken about the need to combat climate change and offered ideas for how individuals can make life-style choices to reduce their carbon footprint.
Unfortunately, the European advocacy group Transport and Environment said in a May report that private planes were five to 14 times as polluting as commercial planes on a per passenger basis, and 50 times as polluting as trains.
